Default bikini top and hardtop question

looking to get some sort of bikini top for a 4 JKU, does any vendor make one that I can use and when needed be able to just put my hardtop back on over the bikini? just honestly don't want the head ache or thought of having to take off the bikini every single time.

any thoughts or direction on this?

I think the answer is going to be no. Even with a web type shade it is difficult to do, and I believe most of the bikinis will cover up the top of the rollbar when installed. That would prohibit the guide pegs on the hard top and freedom panels from seating in their place. It would also make it near impossible to access the freedom panel clamps. Most the bikinis will use some sort of header at the windshield which would make it harder to undo and simply throw over the rear portion as you can with one of the sunshades that just attaches to the three footman loops. Just my thoughts.....I might be wrong, but I don't believe there is some holy grail out there.

The Spiderwebshade ships with extra grommets so your freedom bolts can pass through letting you keep it on with a hardtop - but a traditional bikini with a header will not work. Trektop is a great choice as well.

I actually don't see many bikini tops at all in the DFW area, and there are a crap load of jeeps here. The few I do notice are mainly on TJs. I think when the fastback versions of tops came along for the JKU....like the Trektop and the Off Road Heros model, that became a better option for people that might want the full coverage of a bikini, but with very little effort turning that in to a full top. I think that the sun shade products like the Spiderweb and various other similar models then took another bite out of the bikini market. It gets pretty hot here, but my top is off most of the time. I love the screens as they cut just enough of the UV exposure while still offering a very open air feeling...unlike a bikini which has full coverage up top. Combine those two things together and it makes a little sense why don't see many bikinis on top of JKUs in general.

X2, Spiderwebshade is the only one I know of that won't have to be removed. Jtops can stay, but you have to fold it back past the holes for the freedom panel bolts. Not awful.

I have a Rugged Ridge mesh sunshade. It can be left in place with the Freedom Panels. I just have to undo three Velcro straps up front when I put the Freedom Panels back on.
