Default Bilstein 5100's

Getting ready to order my lift. 4wheel parts has the set of 4 for jeep for $309.99+tax. I think it's a crazy deal. A shop is trying to sell them for $118 ea. they are also saying they are specifically valved for jeep. Question is are they all valved for the specific vehicle or are they just valved generically? I believe the latter. Help.

I ordered some 5100 from NR4x4 and they went $280 which was killer. I have run Rancho mt7000's and RS5000X's on the same jeep (14 jkur with 2.5 RK lift) and when all is said and done I like the 5100's but I liked the RS5000X's better.

I have a set of rancho 9000s brand new that I will sell. Still in the shipping boxes. They're the 29/30 part numbers.

I have a couple sets of JK valved Bilstein 5100s in the garage with less than 3k miles on them. Let me know what part numbers your looking for and I'll tell you what I have, I can meet you somewhere if you like, let me know.

Thanks for the info. Went with the rancho 9000XL's. Couldn't resist the adjustability aspect of the ranchos. Later whenninade bumper and winch I will be able to adjust for it. I run that shock on my F250 and feels pretty good.

Junk...Every set of them I've had they crapped out way early.

On my truck they leaked and wore the bushings in a couple months.

Thought it was a fluke and 2 of the replacements did they same.

Now on my jk the steering stabilizer is rattling on the inside after 3 months!

Garbage...I'll never buy bilstein anything again.

Never mind they drive stiff as hell anyway.

And I have found them to be perfect and durable. They work for me well on the sand my off road surface of choice and frequency)

I do think, however, that all of this is dependent on how you like the ride, hard or soft (insert joke here) and not solely on shocks.

We all know tire selection, inflation level, as well as other suspension parts play a role.

Mine work well on rocks, whoop Dee dos, fast washboard roads and fast two lane twisty roads. I like a firm ride from the shocks. I found tire inflation plays a big roll on comfort.

I ran them on my JKUR with TF 4" & 37s for a few years. Got them from eShocks for something like $75 ea. I wasn't all that impressed. When I went to MTR/Ks they didn't handle the weight very well. Replaced them with TF's Fox reservoir shocks, better in all respects. The 5100s behaved like your basic kit shock, good thing they're cheap
