Black Diamond 2" BB -- HELP
Hello,
Going to install the 2" Black Diamond BB lift tomorrow. This is a spacer lift only. Since the front is a full 1" lower than the back (measured from ground to bottom of fender) I was thinking of keeping the factory spring isolator in place with the replacement isolator (just like adding a spacer). Question is: Should I place the factory isolator on TOP or BOTTOM. Also if there is any concerns I should know about. I will be installing front and rear adjustable trackbars next week.
Any help is greatly appreciated, but I need answers today if possible.
Thanks,
Mike (Big, Bad, and Ugly as Hell)

I just looked at my RC budget lift for reference, but it is designed to keep the front isolator.
It appears you could install the BB, then the stock isolator, both on the top side. The bumpstop should keep things all in alignment. I don't think you can go to the bottom as the spring has an isolator built into the axle receiver specifically designed for the bottom end of the spring. The upper is just the rubber receiver.
Good luck. I'd try it anyway. You will want the extra height. I went 2.5 front and 2 rear (retaining all isolators) and still have an approx 1" rake.
ps. I put Full Traction adjustables on right after my lift. I could then dial the axles in perfect and it did improve handling / bump steerage.

Thanks for the help on short notice, it is very appreciated. I called and talked to Superlift (makers of Black Diamond) and they said it was fine, and to put the stock isolators on top in the front, and throw out the stock isolators in the back. What was said about stock on top will keep both inside the cup makes perfect sense.
Again, much thanks.
