Black diamond 3" kit rides stiff.
iI am thinking of a spacer kit with the factory springs 2 1/2 or 3". The new kit rides hard even after lowering tire presure. I would like the lift but not the harsh ride. Are their any suggestions. I do love the clearence the
3" gives offroad but would like it to be softer on road.

You need bigger tires with those 17" rims so you'll have more sidewall flex, which will definitely give you a better ride. My 3" Black Diamond rides about like my stock Rubicon Unlimited did. It is definitely more firm than a stock Unlimited X on 16's though. What pressure are you running in your tires, and which shocks did you get with the Black Diamond kit?
I just installed the BD 3" on my 4 door Rubi. This is my third Rubi and I've used RE, OME, and Full Traction kits in the past. I use to call them firm. Now I'm old enough that I call them rough.
This time I wanted soft so I called around and after talking to the Superlift folks I decided on the BD 3" with their AT shocks as per their tech's suggestion. I was willing to put out more dinero for monotube shocks but he said the ATs would do better for what I wanted. And he was right.
I was a little concerned about Superlift quality but I was very pleased with fit and finish of everything.
I am running BFG ATs 315-70 17s. I've been on MTs for over 10 years and I'm glad I switched to the ATs.

i agree. its stiffer than stock, but i kind of like it. reminds me that i'm in a jeep and not a soccer mom SUV. i was starting to feel the soccer mom vibe after driving the jeep stock for a full month!!
i'm pretty pleased with the BD kit. comes with good parts and looks great with 35s. it does seem to sag a bit in the back though so i would recommend getting the 4dr rear springs if you have a 2dr.

Also, I only got three months with the BD AT shocks. They didn't handle the 35" tires very well. They do ride nice if you only on the interstate, but if your going to take it off-road (washboard roads, etc.), you may want to pick a different shock.
I installed the Rusty's Off-Road Products 2 inch spring lift. The ride is fantastic as good or better than stock. (JK Rubicon Unlimited hardtop) The rear lifted about an inch and one half. The front now sits about 3/4 of an inch higher than the rear. I am waiting on the Shrockworks mid-length bumper and a winch. The extra weight should level things out. The new springs and shocks give me some more articulation to boot.
