Black Simulated Beadlocks
Hey guys,
New here and new to the Jeep community. Just purchased a new Black 2dr Rubicon. Needed a second ride from my Dodge 2500 Cummins everyday driver.
Does anyone have any reviews or knowledge of the simulated beadlocks in black? I am in the Army and stationed where they use salt on the roads in winter and want to lift and get new rims. I was wondering if the simulated beads or bolts around the outer rim will rust over time. I like them since it gives the Jeep a classic look. Or would I be better off getting black aluminum rims like the ones on my truck? Thanks and looking forward to hitting the trails this summer.

The bolts will build a corrosion and trying to get them out is a pain sometimes
well most of the time they will break or what not but, If you use anti-seize on
the bolts when you put them in then you may not have that problem! I have on the dick cepek dc-1 wheels that the bolts will break. The Mickey Thompson
classic locking beads will as well! Ion wheels builds simulated that are built
into the wheel as one piece they are a slick looking wheel and never have
any issues with them as well but if you use anti-sieze on the bolts and keep
up with it year after year just take them out and re-apply then you will probally be ok

Yeah I have been looking at those myself. I have XD's on my truck but I think they are too nice for a Jeep. Not that a Jeep doesnt deserve good rims but....it is a Jeep. I like the Cragars since it gives a more deep dish look. Just concerned that the bolts on the simulated beads will rust. Maybe there is some kind of protection I can put on the bolts to eliminate the rust since in the winter they use that darn salt on the roads. Really like the Pro Comps if I went cast aluminum. Thanks for the pics.

having said that cragar did send me replacements under warranty. i asked if this was a common complaint and they said no, but i doubt that.
haven't installed the new rims yet so time will tell. i think i'll just rattle can the old ones and keep as a second set.
i would sell them to you at a good price if you lived closer.

I have steel fakers and the only thing that ever rusted was the rim itself from rockrash. THe bolts are no issue cause they are fake and can be powdercoated or painted w/out removal(unless you want them adifferent color than the rim.)
