I have black wheels and touch the rock rash up with a flat black rattle can. You can't see the over spray on the tires at all.

Just spray em and enjoy!

I just masked the tire off and valve stem, threw some pennies in the lug nut holes and sprayed em with plastic dip! Way easy and took about 2 hrs to do. Just cleaned the crap outa em first and made sure they were way dry.

If you look in my Album, you'll see the process I went through. Some people don't sand them, I did and haven't had anything flake off in 20k miles so far.

Love the look. Used duplicolor self etching primer and low gloss engine enamel after hours of scuffing and prep

Plastidip is far easier, but I took a more permanent approach. Don't waste your time taping either way. I took wheels off and just sprayed. Paint will flake off the tire within a few weeks, and plastidip overspray will peel right off tire once it dries.

Plastidip can last awhile too, just clean real good and spray. I hope for this to last years tho

And just so you're not confused, you don't sand the wheel before plastipping, you just clean them real well. LOTS of instructions online about how to plastidip your wheels.

I'm doing my Rubi take offs in a week or so after I get my TPMS installed.
