Default Blasted Wheels Naked?

I have a 2013 2D Sport, and the aluminum wheels are painted silver. Was thinking of blasting the wheels, and leaving them bare. Do you need to clear coat them or could a guy put past wax them and be ok?. I like the natural satin look.

Without a permanent protective layer, the aluminum will corrode. Waxing is not enough, as it comes off.

You will have to coat them with something or they will corrode very quickly. A spray on semi-gloss / matte clearcoat my be a good choice as it is easily touched up. The only other option is to wax them and polish often and they would be shiny, not matte.

I don't think they will be shiny just because the have past wax on them. The finish is some what textured because of the plastic and glass used to blast them. They are very dull after this process.

Media blast them with small beads or silicone grains. Your going to have to put a clear coat on to protect from oxidation. But that would be cool.
