Default Blown Rubi Shock---Normal?

Ive got 6k miles on my 09 Rubi Unlimited. No serious offroading and it appears the l/r shock is leaking oil. Normal after only 6k? Maybe time to upgrade. What do you guys recommend for a 2.5 inch lifted Rubi?

Oh wait... Are you running stock shocks on a 2.5 lift?
Shocks maybe 'over streched' or whatever you call it?
Gotta get longer shocks when you raise your Jeep.
I got 22 000 km on my stock Rubicon shocks before I lifted and they were fine.
And I also did a lot of serious wheeling. Well as serious as wheeling can get with a stock Rubicon

Its got the Teraflex shock extenders on it so I dont think that was the problem.

since you are already using TF, get their shocks. i like mine.

I had 3k on my Rubi and while installing the TF coil lift we noticed the left rear shock was leaking. I too have the shock extensions and had a new shock ordered under warranty but I decided to order OME LT shocks before spring.

Shocks are mass produced like batteries and tires and every now and then one of them is defective.

If you don't want to spend money the shock should be replace under the Jeep warranty, particularly because you have done no serious off roading (the undercarriage is not packed with mud )

The shock extension may or may not be a point of contention with the dealer.

If you prefer aftermarket shocks, I would follow wazooz's suggestion and go with the TF shocks.

Yep, I agree with everyone else here. I am running the TF 2.5 Coil lift with shocks and it rides good. Good Luck

Mine leaked at 6000k too - got it replaced under warranty.

The next week I did the lift & upgraded to Bilsteins. These have been heavily abused by comparison & are still holding up well.
