Default On Board Air

I know there are a bunch of threads out there about On board air and yes I have used the search bar.

I'm in the market to buy an on board air system to support:

a) F&R ARB Air Lockers
b) Quick Disconnect connection for Tire inflation
c) Conductors Special Air horn

I am not a pneumatic guy, I like to do electronics so any input would be appreciated. Do I need a certain CFM compressor or a big enough reservoir? Would a 2 gallon reservoir suffice?

Easiest would be an arb compressor with inflation kit, then add a tank.

Or any other compressor with a tank and the adapter kit to run the arb's.

Or CO2 (though I don't know how that would do with a horn. Then again, no idea why people want air horns in the first place...)

Or go for a full kilby system

For air, you may as well go with a 5 gallon tank.

I have the VIAIR constant duty and love it. It airs up tires quick and came with a 2.5 gallon tank that seems to be sufficient for most jobs. I to want to add a new air horn and will probably use the valve to empty the tank for the line in to the horn. The JK horn is pretty whimpy. I can't hear my airhorn on the highway with my stereo at a moderate level, definitely upgrading to a train horn so people talking on their cells that decide to continue to converse rather than using their turn signal and look before merging lanes aren't surprised to see me on their a$$ in the rear view mirror.

I have the Kilby OBA setup, and holy he'll does it rock. I can fill a 37" tire from 5 psi to 30 in about 2 mins. It is powerful enough to run an impact wrenches with ease. Air horns would be cake. The install is a really easy as well. It comes with a 2.5 gallon tank, but I'm sure they can get you bigger if you want it.

Viair super duty dual compressor system with the 2.5 air tank.... works wonders and installs clean.

Yep, uses a york belt driven compressor. Nice setup, but it's also over a grand.

$1250, to be a bit more precise...

I was hoping to keep my budget under 600 for the air system

Default On board air.

Dito on the Kilby set up. It comes with everything you will need. I also got the Evap relocation kit and then the air tank goes where the evap used to be. It is belt driven and they supply a idler pulley with a new belt. Like my father used to tell me. You get what you pay for and it only cost a few dollars more to go first class. Go with Kilby and you won't go wrong.
