I took a look under the hood of my JK last night to see where I might be able to mount a small compressor. I didn't come up with much. The only real space I could see was in front of the battery, but it's not quite big enough. I think I'm going to give up on the hard-mount option for now. I may go with a portable unit like the Viair 400P. If someone else comes up with an idea of where to hard-mount one under the hood, I'd love to hear it.

that looks really good! Nice Job. Where are you going to mount the reserve tank??

I'm clueless!! No room, in the engine compartment for a 2.5 gallon tank..

You can always mount that portable air tank on your rear rollcage with quick release straps..

I don't have a reserve tank..the compressor I have(Viair 380) will pump 200 psi at 50% duty cycle and 100 psi at 100% duty cycle. It takes about 10 mins to pump up 4 35" tires from 10 psi to 30 psi...All I use it for is to air up so I can live without a tank.

Default Air Compressor & tank

Try JCWhitney...part# ZX148930U.

I have a similar unit that i plan on installing in the next week or two. I'll post some pic once installed. This tank is small enough to mount above the t-case skid plate or IN the front bumper. I've already test fitted now i just need to do it. The compressor I have is small enough to mount between the battery and main fuse block under the hood.

It's great for tires and air mats!!

If the stock muffler was replaced with one that was in-line, all that space in the rear could be used for a small tank.

This is what I plan on doing. There is a lot of wasted space in that location.

I've got a similar model by the same manufacturer. It would take a looooong time to air up completely with one of those.
