Default Body damage from PSC fender flares?

I've seen the pic of the PSC flares where they drove another Jeep's tire on top of it. Looks quite impressive, so I'm wonder if any one has ever gotten body damage from having their PSC flares hit on the trail. Any thoughts on this?

Also, can anyone help me understand how the PSC might not cause body damage? Is it some attached different? I've seen several posts about metal flat flares causing body damage when hit on the trail, but no one seems to mention a specific brand. They just say generically that metal flat flares cause damage.

the psc flares are about the best looking metal fenders out there and for their looks, i like them a lot. however, i have personally seen them do body damage after taking a good hit. of course, i have seen a set of plastic xenon flares to body damage too. body damage from hard fenders isn't brand specific, just a result of the JK having thin sheet metal. this is why i choose to run trimmed factory flares. they will bend, fold and tear off before doing body damage or, at least, that's what i have seen.

I have the PSC flares on and did the install. When you install them there are heavy duty metal braces that you install that strengthen the flares and how their mounting location. IMHO these flares would hold up through trail abuse such as light bashes and grazing of rocks or trees but if you hit something hard enough to push these into the body I really don't think anything would stop that. Like WOL stated using the stock flares so that they rip off before damaging the body.
