Just installed a 1" Bodylift and a 1 3/4" normal lift which was sold as a kit (ComfortRide™ 2-3/4'' Lift Kit by Daystar KJ09143BK). All to fit larger tires. Now the bodylift does not lift the front and rear bumper to my surprise. This is quite hideous and much worse, the tires hit the front bumper so much I actually can not steer at all. The tire size is 285/75-18 (34.8 inch)

What should I do? Did I forget anything? Should I go and buy another frontbumber? But will I not encounter exactly the same problem then? The same goes for the rear bumper, that is just an optical problem, but still a problem. Here in Europe there seems to be no one who knows what to do with this... :S

You can get some bumper relocation brackets for the rear...pretty sure Rough Country sells 'em. For the front, I don't know what your options are, aside from replacement/chopping.

 

Yep, RC has brackets for the rear bumper, or just paint the gap black.

For the front, chop the ends off the bumper. There are plenty of threads here on how to do it, and several companies even sell the stubby endcaps if you don't want to mess with that yourself. If you want a new bumper, get a mid or stubby, not a full width.

 

thats what body lifts typically do. many people end up just painting the exposed seam between the body and bumper black to hide it. as far as the front bumper, 35s shouldnt rub on the bumper, but they will rub the lower air dam. cut it or remove it. if the 35s are rubbing the bumper, you'll have to either chop it or replace it.

 

Are you running stock wheels and no wheel spacers?

See, no one knew that here in Europe! Now just have to find me a webshop that ships those brackets international

And I consider the chopping, for the time being at least. Before I have myself shipped a new Frontbumper over here, its gonna be eastern . The stubby endcaps I did find already, they even look not bad to my surprise. Just need to check if they fit an European frontbumper, because these are different from the US versions (less winddraft/more aerodynamic at higher speeds).

Thatll fix the front, and like mentioned above rear relocation brackets work, but black paint is cheaper.

 

Got any pics of your jeep kinda from a front/side view?

 

I have Alloy USA Wheel Spacer kits 1-1/2" installed. The wheels are 18", so no stock.
