Default Brace or just SS relocator???

So I just noticed my steering stabilizer is flat on the bottom probably from rocks in Virginia (that was a fun trip a little while ago) but functioning (not leaking and feels same)... so I am considering to replace it and relocate it higher.

I also had in mind to strengthen the track bar bracket, and thought to kill two birds with one stone, but this quote from article confused me:

This [some track bar bracket brace] was designed to address a potential problem weak weld area on some earlier Jeep JKs. Chrysler has apparently strengthened the area sometime in 2008. (source)
But when in 2008? My JK is a 2008. Do I need a brace or not?

I got a black diamond ss, it came with re-location brackets that moved it up much higher.
