Default Brake fluid

Getting ready to change out break lines for lift, but cant find much info on if i can put in synthetic DOT 3 or i have to use standard. (not even sure what is in there now, and yes i read owners doc, but didnt state anything about synthetic)

I have a 2010 JKU Rubi

Does it matter? can it be mixed if its not? I have heard to flush it if its not synthetic..

Can anyone clear this up for me or are they all synthetic and i am just being a noob on this?

B

It should all be close to the same stuff no matter what. Its bogus to think about how many vehicles use dot 3 in their lines.

Seems like as long as its all flushed, and replaced with the same fluid it wouldn't matter.

a good choice for brake lines is using that new poly-armor tubing, it is great and affordable, no kinks! you can bend a 90 in it by using your finger as the bender

I would tend to think the brake fluid is like engine oil, you can mix regular and synhetic without any issues. If you flush your lines with the sythetic there should be any old fluid to worry about!

Dot4 is backwards compatible - it has a higher boiling point. i am running Dot4 since going to 35" tires and no issues.
