Brake Upgrades
Not sure what year our Jeep is. But I just installed the Teraflex Master Cylinder upgrade and what a major improvement with that alone. I have an 07" Unlimited running 37" tires and did put on new slotted rotors and better pads a few years ago with only marginal improvement. The better master cylinder has made the biggest difference so far, and wish I would have done that upgrade years ago. I want to say on the 2012's and up already have a better master cylinder, someone else I am sure would know what year the change was.
Just had word that my Dynatrac break upgrade is due in next week so I will have to let you know what an improvement that makes. I looked very closely at the Teraflex upgrade, but I wanted front and rear system and Teraflex isn't shipping the rear yet. If you read between the lines on the Dynatrac write up you can see they are talking about the Teraflex front only system.
From the Website:
"The increased rear braking power provides balanced braking, reducing nose dive and dramatically improving the control of the vehicle in mild and hard braking conditions compared to upgrades that only address the front brakes." If your towing the last thing you want in a hard breaking situation is increased nose dive.
Not trying to slam Terflex, they make great products and I did buy the master cylinder and love it.

today i am installing ebc extra duty pads (newest line) and EBC slotted rotors all front and rear. the EBC pads are rated GG so the cold friction (bite) will be awesome. I will have around $580 in this upgrade. it will be a while before everything is broken in but i will report back in a week or so.
FYI i already have stainless lines front and rear which made a huge difference in brake pedal feel.

How has this setup worked out for you so far? I have a 2015 JKU with 35's, the brakes are soft, I was used to it but when I get it the wifes car and hit the brakes I about throw myself thru the windshield. Then I get back in my Jeep again I realize again how bad my brakes really are.
I'm currently in the process of re-doing a front axle for my rig and experimenting with a 14"+ rotor and a solid caliper, both off different vehicles. Those kits using floating calipers gain their increased stopping power through shear leverage by using a larger rotor. A lot of the potential force is lost to caliper flex. A solid rotor provides 2 advantages which are almost zero flex of the caliper housing and tremendously more even application of force upon the brake pads through the caliper pistons. Don't know if my adaptation will work at the end but if you can afford a brake upgrade kit with a solid caliper, that's the way to go for sure. I know some of these big brake kits just use the factory caliper with a bracket to move it further out to accept a bigger rotor or just use the same type floating rotor system with their "upgraded" calipers.
