Brakes helppppppp
Looking to upgrade my breaks and i want to do all 4 but im haveing trouble finding the correct brand/style that will work for me im gonna be putting 37"s on soon so i want to find good breaks for that. im looking at the TeraFlex Big Rotor Kit with Slotted Rotors (Manufacturer Part No: 4303490) and/or the TeraFlex Front Big Brake Kit with Slotted Rotors (Manufacturer Part No: 4303420). does anyone have any suggestions or recomendations as to what might work or be better for incresed stopping distance and as always price is somewhat of an option haha
I had to replace the front brakes last year and went with the Teraflex Big Brake Kit and Master Cylinder as I have a 2008. After about 500 miles the brakes became amazing! My other vehicle is a Lexus GS350 and I can say that my Jeep stops like the Lexus with Big Brake Kit. I can't imagine going back to stock brakes after this kit.

Hey there, nothing against Teraflex's big brake kit but I bought a set of 4 cross drilled/slotted rotors off ebay with ceramic pads. The company was Brake motive and it all cost about 210.00. Took about 1.5 hours to replace all four corners pads and rotors and I have to say they work awesome! A noticiable difference over stock and for some one who doesn't have the funds or desire to go more it is an awesome option. The only other brake improvement my JK has are stainless steel lines. My Jk is running 37's and is a manual if that helps for comparison sake
The above mentioned products will give you better stopping power over the OEM parts, but the other variable in the equation is the weight of your new wheels and tires. The heavier your combination, the more stopping distance you will need. A lighter (relative) set-up will give you better braking, and not wear your pads and rotors as quickly.

I have 20,000 on mine with 35s, stops better than my TJ on 35s ever did.
I'll most likely go w/the pads/rotor suggestions above, but not until the OEM ones wear out... I'm not replacing working brakes.
also BRAKE is not the same as BREAK

Just to clear this up a bit. Are cross drilled or slotted rotors good to use for a jeep that sees a lot of mud, clay and sand. I've ward in the past no but no one can really give me a good reason why not too
