I had to replace the front brakes last year and went with the Teraflex Big Brake Kit and Master Cylinder as I have a 2008. After about 500 miles the brakes became amazing! My other vehicle is a Lexus GS350 and I can say that my Jeep stops like the Lexus with Big Brake Kit. I can't imagine going back to stock brakes after this kit.

I'm running the TF kit with master cylinder. Great kit works well and the stopping power is excellent.

Hey there, nothing against Teraflex's big brake kit but I bought a set of 4 cross drilled/slotted rotors off ebay with ceramic pads. The company was Brake motive and it all cost about 210.00. Took about 1.5 hours to replace all four corners pads and rotors and I have to say they work awesome! A noticiable difference over stock and for some one who doesn't have the funds or desire to go more it is an awesome option. The only other brake improvement my JK has are stainless steel lines. My Jk is running 37's and is a manual if that helps for comparison sake

The above mentioned products will give you better stopping power over the OEM parts, but the other variable in the equation is the weight of your new wheels and tires. The heavier your combination, the more stopping distance you will need. A lighter (relative) set-up will give you better braking, and not wear your pads and rotors as quickly.

Very true and what I mentioned is not by any means better but I will say for those on a budget, It is an inexpensive way to improve braking, obviously not to the same level as the teraflex kit or any other big braking kit. Quite frankly, to me, even with the potential for quicker wear, even if they only lasted 30-40K miles, for $210.00, I'll buy another set.

I did the PowerStop slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Big improvement for the price.
Got them at rock auto.
Have about 10k on them and still only showing minimal wear.

Default nice

I have 20,000 on mine with 35s, stops better than my TJ on 35s ever did.

I'll most likely go w/the pads/rotor suggestions above, but not until the OEM ones wear out... I'm not replacing working brakes.

also BRAKE is not the same as BREAK

Get ready to replace them soon because stock pads with 35s and 20k miles is all but done.

Just to clear this up a bit. Are cross drilled or slotted rotors good to use for a jeep that sees a lot of mud, clay and sand. I've ward in the past no but no one can really give me a good reason why not too
