fifth picture is the left shock which is still intact. it is my right in that is broke!

Being that he said he doesn't know cars that well and also doesn't know what it takes to install a new shock, I doubt he knows what you are talking about, lol!

Monroe shocks are actually pretty good for street and moderate offroading. They can get just as pricey depending on which shock you go with.

ok thanks! they are gonna call the 4 wheel parts and check prices. they priced me 300 for rear shocks and labor to install. does that sound right? what are the different Monroe shocks so I know that they would be the better ones. if I did get fox what would that cost me with labor? thanks!

First off fox shocks will be 4x the cost of a decent Monroe shock. Go on the advanced auto website and look at the Monroes. You can change them yourself in an hour (all 4) the fronts are 18mm for bottom shock mount and upper is 16mm. The rear is 18mm and upper rear is 15mm I believe (might be 16mm). You could also get a set of 4 Teraflex VSS 9550 for $264 and free shipping through northridge 4x4. IMO you would be wasting money to have someone install them. I did my 2 fronts in 30 min yesterday and that was with my breaks....

It is a very simple fix but without a torque wrench and a bit of knowledge it could prove difficult?

If you do get them to replace for u it would be great if they let u watch so u can learn.

Like battleFrog said the rear shocks have got to be one of the easiest fixes/mods that u can do. 3 bolts and voila....
