Default Broken lightbar.

Patently my lightbar doesn't like the relative rough unpaved roads here at Bragg, and decided to break at the bolt that holds it to the pillar mounts. It looks to be made of some odd, grainy metal. Suggestions to fix it? I have to find some hardware that'll fit, as the bolt has since came out when I finger tightened to try to make it home. I really don't wanna buy another lightbar.

Well if it came with the lightbar, try the maker for a model of bolt thread size and length for a replacement? Or the local parts store.

Unfortunately I didn't purchase the lightbar, the previous owner did. He says it's by a company called "the LED guys", but google hasn't really turned up much for me. I'll deal with it tomorrow, I've been in the woods training since Monday. It looks like a very small portion of the threads broke, I guess from the bolts rattling out. I'll try to find a replacement bolt, and if it threads deep enough to secure it, I'm gonna locktite the hell out of it.

You can drillout hole and install a larger nutsert with larger bolt.
Nutsert make end up cracking aluminum if riveted in, maybe epoxy nutsert in?

Sorry, best idea I had.

Saw another light bar break similarly during a run last year. Don't know if it's the same brand or not. Road vibration is hard on gear; obviously some manufacturers are underestimating the stress. You can see a quick reference to that one on the attached video (3:48 if it doesn't forward you).

Got it mounted, rather securely it feels with a new nut and a locking washer. Had a bit over a half inch worth of thread still left, so that'll have to do for the time being.

That road rattle is no joke. Now to cut my rear fenders.

If your getting a lot of wind noise you can install weather stripping between the pillar and the mounts this will some. This may not help much since you are running a double row light bar.
