Default Broken Sway Bars

I came back from the trail this weekend in my 2007 JK 4DR and noticed the Sway Bar disconnect light flashing when I switched back into 2WD on the pavement. Checked underneath and noticed one sway bar snapped in half and the other had come off the lower bushing. I've got a 3" Tera lift.

Anybody ever heard of this before on the JK?

Thanks

I have read it on this forum before. The sway bar links bend . I think it's because of the length of the links. Did they give you longer links with the lift. If the sway bar goes to far one way or another it will lock up and either bend or snap the links or break the sway bar . I guess its time for a sway bar that doesn't need a disconect.

Were you still using the factory links or did you have new TeraFlex links installed?

Sounds like the classic case of the sway bar links being too short.
If they are too short, when the axle drops on one side, that side of the sway bar gets pulled down too far.
Then when the axle goes back up, it folds the sway bar up backwards and bends/breaks the sway bar link.

I've got pictures but the file size limitation of 100KB for a photo is pretty limiting. I can email them to whomever wants to see, and I will work on making the files smaller, but I think it will be tough to see detail on the smaller photos.

Did you answer Eddie's question? Are you still running factory links?

Stock rears are silver and appear longer then the ones pictured, at least mine were.

I didnt use my stock rears up front though, I installed the RE disconnect links that came
with my kit anyway, just for a back up in case the stock disconnect motor quit working.

Ive yet to disconnect the RE links though, the stock disconnect has been working just fine for me, with no bent links
