Default Bsuhwacker Flat Fender install not going very well... tips appreciated!!

Spent the last 3.5hrs cussing at my Jeep and "almost" have 1x fender flare installed.

In short...the stupid flare isn't aligning with the inner braces that bolt onto the metal fender. The clips are installed correctly and the inner fender pieces are installed according to the instructions from Bushwacker, but the holes on the flare do not align with the clips. I'm coming up about 1/2 short on all the clips with the flare fully seated against the fender.

I've done engine rebuilds on LSx engines that have been easier than this!! Why this stupid piece of plastic is kicking my a$$ is driving me insane.

$0.02 to speed the process much appreciated. BTW, I read WOL's write-up. Doesn't help with the probs I'm having.

I was my own worst enemy when I installed mine. My stupid gorilla grip over tightened all the bolts for the sub frame assembly causing the edges to bulge which in turn wouldn't allow the fender to seat properly. Try loosening the bolts.

I also noticed leaving the fenders in the sun made them more pliable.

Good luck! It'll totally be worth it in the end!

Ps. Are you using the splash guards?

You need a scratch owl to align the holes. I fought it for an hour before getting one. Was simple after that.

Mine took a few hours. The fronts are the worst. Mine fit ok, the double sided rubber gasket does not stick to the body. Bushwacker sent another roll of the gasket.....same results. Wish I had not sold my original flares.

remount the stock ones, get a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade and cut them into flats, return the wackers and save some hundreds to do more mods

Trying to line them up failed miserably for me.. I ended up drilling the hole out a little in a line towards the mounting holes then used a black washer to cover the hole.
