Default Budget boost

If it's too good to be true... $170 to lift my JK 2 inches sounds good, but what am I missing about the BB? Anyone running one and has it been good or a nightmare?

depends on the kit. $123 is all it cost me to get the Teraflex budget leveler. Thats pucks for the front and back, and new front links. the front on my kit was 2", and the rear 1". If you go up 2" in the back you MIGHT need to get a trackbar bracket to re-center the axle, but some of the BB kits include it. The nice thing about most of these kits is that they will work with your stock shocks. If your shocks dont need to be replaced yet, you can get by this way and then save for better shocks down the road. If youre going to disconnect, think about a kit with "spring retention" spacers so the springs dont fall out when flexing.

I run a BDS 2" Budget Boost. It works well. Gave me around 2.25" in the front and 2" in the rear. I used BDS's 5500 shocks. Love the way my rig handles now.

It's a little stiff, but I like that.

Basically the budget boost kits give you a little extra ride height to clear larger tires, but they don't really "improve" your suspension. I have the 2 inch Daystar kit.

The ride is close to stock...it's your factory springs and shocks

The stock JK shock with an extension rides better than a lot of kit shocks....it's built for the jk...not 50 different vehicles like most mid priced kit shocks are.

I run disconnects and the shock limits the travel enough that your coil will stay put.

Pick your kit based on how complete it is...the $180 rc stage 2 kit has almost everything...I still need more bumpstop.

Upgrading piece by piece later will let
Me get exactly what I want instead of what a kit provides.

My thinking...might as well wear out what I have instead of replacing parts right off the show room floor.
I'll look into the rough country kit for sure. Im all for complete kits - don't want to rig it up only to find out I need three other upgrades that I didn't know about.

Ran teraflex 2.5 with 35's for a couple of years - never a problem. Rode and drove great.

I'm definitely sold on the BB's. I think I'll be using them throughout my JK's DD days. Once it passes 100k miles and my warranties drop off, then it's time for the 4 inch lift and 37's, snorkel and etc!
