Question Budget Boost MInus Bumpstops

I added a 2.5" BB from rough Country with the shock extenders, and used my stock Rubicaon shocks.
My question is, why would I want to add larger bumpstops? Without the bumpstops I not only gain 2.5" of lift but also 2.5" of extra travel, correct? If I add the bumpstops all I gain is 2.5" of lift and no extra travel. Is my thinking correct?

Please someone correct me if I am wrong... but the bumpstops prevent overcompressing the coils and stops the tires from ripping off fenders in full flex situations.

I know a guy with a 2 door JK and 2.5" budget lift, he runs 35" tires, and removed his bump stops. He had to trim his stock fenders, but wow that thing flexes good!

The stock springs are not designed to fully compress and without the bumpstops you can damage the coils by over compressing them.

exactly. bump stop extensions exist to prevent the overcompression of your coils.

I don't mean to be a smartass, but to me it looks like there's some room in your coil to compress more... at least enough to fully stuff the wheel, maybe more.

just because you CAN compress your coils more doesn't mean that you SHOULD.

the bumpstops are there so you dont damage the shocks, they only come with the kit if you buy the shock option
