Im thinking of going the 2.5 spacer lift route and I have a reputable garage who specialize in all things Jeep.. How long should a project like this take and what should it cost??

If you look on Project JK, there are detailed instructions on how to do the install yourself. It is relatively easy.

Cost: $0
Time: probably a few hours or so

It also helps to get a fellow Jeeper to help if possible.

It should take you less than 2 hours to do by yourself just read the instructions over and over and TF has a video on installing this.

dude, seriously do it yourself, part of being a jeeper is learning new things and how to work on your jeep yourself, i got a buddy of mine and myself to install my leveling kit which is pucks also, took just over an hour and i learned alot, save $300 for something better, such as another mod...And have fun with it, learn some things and get dirty. You will feel great when done like you seriously just accomplished something.

If you are not into wrenching and are adamant on having it done by someone else, I don't think 250.00 would be a bad price considering the hourly rate of most shops (300.00 being on the upper end I would say). I suppose you could do it in a couple of hours yourself if you are very fast. I have done my fair share of lifts over the last 12 to 14 years (mostly jeeps), don't claim by any means to be an expert, but it took me a lot longer than a couple hours all said and done to do my tera flex bb. Yes it is a straight forward lift and not very complicated, but you still have to loosen all eight control arms, track bar, install brackets, etc.... and then take the time to re-torque everything while laying on your back in your drive way or garage floor. I also tried to re use the stock shocks, but on an 07 I of course broke the top studs off both of them...lol. That added a little time! It is very common in lifting vehicle to run into some sort of gliche that always seems to set you back a little! But I could see doing it in a couple hours with another set of hands!
