Default bump stop clearance

Hey everyone. I have a '10 jku with the tf 2.5 lift with shock adapters. Took the Jeep for a road trip with 4 friends and luggage, and we hit the bump stops on the freeway multiple
times. Even unloaded there is minimal clearance for up travel. Is this normal? Is there a way to improve the up travel like speed stops? Thanks.

My JK only had about an inch of uptravel before bottoming out, but then I lifted it with some stiffer springs. It's not totally abnormal, but it sure is annoying.

You could always put your factory bump stops back in and don't use the aftermarket

I have the exact same situation. JKU with 2.5 TF BB. The TF front bump stops are less than an inch of up travel. If I remove the TF front bump stop extensions then I will have to much up travel. Pretty poor design IMO.

Agree with this. I would rather stuff a fender off road than bottom out on road 0.02

I have 35's and stock fenders and the space at the highest point on my tire and the lowest point on my fender is 3".

Even with the stock bumper the bump stop clearance was less than 1".

So unless I am missing something shouldn't the TF front bump stops allow for 2.5 of travel?

I would have to say that I am overall disappointed in this lift. In addition to the bump stop issue the front end is flighty/vague and the ESP in hyper sensitive. I have a JKS adjustable front track bar as well.

If I do remove the bump stop extension then do I risk blowing my shocks out?

They better have more travel than that!! You will be fine. Are your springs really that "bouncy"? Seems like at hway speeds you should be pretty level, not oscilating up amd down like a wave?

From the earlier picture it looks like tjey really dont want you flexing up. Can you modify them any to take some length out or are they tapered all the way down?
