Default Bump stop space-your thoughts.

Hi guys, I have an 09 Rubi 4 door with a TF 2.5" coil lift, a gobi rack and some armor.
I measured the space between my rear bump stops and I have exactly 1.5" of space left. I had my buddy who weighs in at a modest 300 lbs stand on the rear bumper and the space shrank down to just under 1/2". If he rocked up and down the bump stops would just about touch.
This was without any passengers or gear in my rig. I've attached some pics of the space with no weight on/in my rig.
I figure this is not good so I'm fed up of trying to find cheap ways around better load handling and think I'll just get the OME HD kit from Northridge.
But first I'd like to hear you opinions. My rig is a dd but also used for moderate trails and traveling. I was gonna add a rear lod until I saw what you see in the pics.

Just so you know, that rubber bumpstop compresses all the way until the metal cup it is in is touching the bumpstop pad on the axle.

I have a 2 1/2" Teraflex lift with the same bumpstop extensions you have, and have about an inch more space between the bumpstop and bumpstop pad than you do. I also have a Poison Spyder rear bumper and a large bag of tools and a portable air compressor in the back of my Jeep.

As long as we are on the subject, does anyone know how much space there is between the factory bumpstops in front and rear on a stock jk?

I am curious to see how far off my spacing is from stock after lifting and adding bumpstops...

I have got at least an 1" more space on my OME HD coil spring set up with bumpers and winch. Do you think you got a bad batch of TF coil spring that is sagging too much?

Don't know but it I keep hearing from people running running the 2.5" coil lift with heavy bumpers front and rear that they have more space than me. I've only had them installed for 13 months and 20,000 Km. Something doesn't seem right.

Those pics don't go up high enough. Do you have extended TF uppers also? Or just the lowers.

If you have both, remove the uppers, you don't need both sets. If it is lowers only, you could try removing them and cycling the suspension. As long as the shocks don't over-compress, it may be an option.Or go with 1" bumpstops instead of 2".

I just looked at the kit on the Northridge site and it looks as though it only came with the lowers. So I'm gonna assume the uppers are stock until I can crawl under and confirm this. But if this is the case I wonder why guys running the same kit with bumpers have more space than I do?

Default New bumb stops and springs and shocks

I had teraflex spacers for a 2.5 inch lift as you can see in the 1st photo my spacers were junk. I went to a new coil springs w/2.5 lift to eliminate all spacer put on new bump stops and shocks and brakes when I was all done tool box in back spare tire on back bumper (35. 12.50s) and I have 1.5 inch space between bump stop and frame on rear. I do feel them hit at times going in and out of drive way a little hot , but I'm probably worried about nothing. Next month when I go hunting will be the real test

These are the measurements you should be using for comparison.Click image for larger version
