Default bump stops needed?

Hi, newbie here, ive been reading the different threads for weeks on the forum and learning about the different lifts and setups you guys are running. I have a 2012 unlimited auto and just got my lift in the mail a few days ago (rock krawler 3.5 with bilstein 5100's) and im going to be running 35 x 12.5 x 17 on charcoal pitler wheels. Do you guys think ill need bump stops for this setup? I also purchased the aev procal to get my speedo and shifting correct. I plan on doing gears next, but is there anything else ill need when i do the lift install?

thanks Cory

need? maybe not but, should you install it? yes. among other things, bumpstop extensions are designed to help prevent the over compression of your new coils - i.e. prevent them from compressing to the point where they do not return to their original height. of course, they also help to prevent rubbing of your fenders at a full flex.

One bumpstop at each wheel is all you need. You might also want to look at a new front drive shaft or exhaust modification. Did you get extended brake lines with your kit?

I have the same kit, love it by the way. For the rear I would go with rk because they are offset forward and hit perfect. I used a normal bump stop first and it was missing the rubber stop on top.

I just ordered my 2.5" RK kit yesterday and David at Northridge got me set up with the correct bumpstops that I may need. He said probably not 100% necessary, but not a bad idea to put them in while everything is torn apart. They are not that expensive and I figured it would be easier to do now than later.

Something else to consider is rear spring retainers. I am running the same kit and at full droop my rear springs could fall right out.

Yes your right. I used pipe clamps work really well. On bottom and top of spring.
