Default which bumper

I'm ordering my new front bumper tomorrow and I can't decide, it's between the Smittybilt http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.as...3&partID=10524 and the Rancho http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=41262. Please help me decide, I value the opinion of the members here @ JK forum.

Thanks Bob

Good luck with your choice, neither one realy suits the JK from my opinion but everyone has different tastes! It looks like your eyeing up the entry level bumpers. If you are interested in moving up a level the LOD stubby signature series is fantastic, sturdy and well suited to the JK. Down the road you can match up with the rear tire carrier bumper. Lots of write ups and photos of these on the site, just do a search.

I like the Smittybuilt and the pic does not do it justice. I have seen it in person and it looks good.

Not sure If you've looked at em yet but Pure Jeep also makes a stubby bumper that's not set-up for a winch, and if it's anything like they're winch bumper they're awesome. Other then that I like the Smittybuilt.

Call Smittybilt and 4wd b4 ordering to see if they have it on stock. I ordered an XRC front bumper and it's been in back order since May. Last time I called, they told me November 17th. So I'm back to 0 deciding on what other bumper I like.

Hey WheelerBob. IMO if you are looking for simple and not alot of money. Look at the Rescue Bumper by Olympic. It is like $300.00. I thought of getting it but like the looks of the other bumpers and could not make up my mind. So I just built my own using things I like from the different bumpers I have seen. Here is a pic of it. If you want man Ill help you build one I have the equip to do it. Materials cost me approx $160 and you could get the pure jeep d-rings for $100.00 at Northridge 4x4. By the way everyone loves the wheels on my jk. Thanks again.
