Default Bumper Alternative

Hey guys - I was looking for a stubby bumper a couple weeks ago. Didn't need anything special and was not worried about needing a spot to mount a winch. Honestly, the main reason I was looking for a stubby was because I think they look good and I am tired of my tires constantly kicking road crap onto the top of my sock bumper.

I came across this bumper on eBay sold by alanjk427. They are made by an individual rather than build by the hundreds or thousands. The bumper came in on Tuesday and I was able to get it installed last night. It turned out pretty nice and it is pretty well made. I really only have a couple small issues with the bumper is that there is not enough room between the fog lights to mount a front plate. So if you are in a state that requires them (like mind) you may have to get creative to get it mounted. The other issue is that the finish on the hardware needs some improvement as it is just painted with flat black paint and as soon as you put a wrench on it, the need for touchup is required.

Overall, I am happy with the bumper and the price. This seller sells several other JK products (some you may have seen on here) on eBay as well including bull bars , stingers & winch plates for this bumper

Just wanted to pass a lower cost option out there for you guys.

What's the distance between fog lights? It looks plenty big enough to accommodate a front plate. Looks pretty good though. I checked out the seller but he must have only made one as I don't see any more and he doesn't have any feedback for them mostly tailgate covers.

The plate overlaps the lights by about 1/4" on each side. He had 7 listed & as of the time of my original post HR had sold 6. He also had rear bumpers. Front was $365 shipped. I think the rear was the same price.

Hmm I'll check him out again later and see. As for the price it's okay for a bare bones bumper. I was looking at the Warn stubby that has the brush guard and factory fog cut out and it comes in under $450 shipped. You can also mount a front plate to the Warn.
