Default Bumper Height

Anybody know what the measurement is to the bottom of the stock bumper with 37s? I know this is hard to answer because of all of the different lift options, but I would love to hear from those of you running 37s. I want to run 37s, but we have bumper height laws that are enforced. Running 35s will not be a problem, but I really want to run 37s on this one.

Just measure a jeep with 35's and add 1 inch for the tire size. That is all you gain is 1 inch. If you want some 37 I got 5 Pro Comp xterrains 37 13.50 18 brand new 1 virgin and 4 with less than 200miles on them 1500

what size lift are you planning on running? that will be a determining factor as well.

I was planning on 4 inches, but may need to go higher to fit 37s. I guess it depends on the manufacturer because I have seen 37s with some 4" kits and some others had to go to 6" to make them fit. I just got the new JK and am ready to do the work now. I really want 37s, but I don't want to get it done only to find out that it is not close to legal. If it is close we can get by without problems, but if it is too tall the city cops here will stop it every day.

Every other truck I own is lifted, so I want to do this JK too. We have a 1979 CJ7 on 33s, a 2008 Ford F-450 dually on 37s and a 2008 Suburban on 35s. I want at least 35s on this Jeep, but would really prefer 37s.

This seems really simple, but if I lift this Jeep 4 inches and increase the tire size by 5 inches (32-37"), would the bumpers be roughly 6.5 inches taller than they are now (4" lift plus 1/2 of the tire size increase)? I don't know if this theory will work or not. Any ideas?

I saw that thread and that is what made me worry. My daily driver is a 2008 Ford F-450 dually lifted 8" on 37s and I have not had any problems with that. The wheel wells cover the width of the tires and my bumpers are less than an inch from being illegal. We nailed that setup right on the money and I am hoping to do the same with the Jeep. Thanks for the input. I am gonna go with the 37s and see what happens.

hey i live in Maryland so i understand what you are trying to do... i have 37's on my jeep.. i had the post about getting pulled over again.. anyway.. my bumpers are right at the legal limit.. 28" ... in the front they are about 27 1/2 i have the 37" mud grappler's and the bds 4.5 lift with about 2 inches acos pro adjustable spacers.. so i have around 6 inch lift .. and i just make it with in the limit.. but then the cop i talked to the other day say they measure the frame now.. but that might be better.. i barley got my tires covered with my flares.. that seems to be their main concern.. oh and not to dark of window tint.. so good luck i would think you will be fine with 37's. should look great !
