I installed my XRC last weekend and it does NOT look like that. It looks to me like the tire carrier and bumper are right, and the problem is your entire bumper is leaned back and not just the tire carrier. Maybe check all your hardware and make sure you installed the hardware that mounts to the side of the frame right.

Remove tire and tire carrier. Place jack under hitch or drop hitch, loosen bumper bolts. Jack bumper so it rotates forward. This will Preload bumper.
Attached carrier.

That's what I did. I had gansta lean. Mine is a Smittybilt knock off. Same peeps make it. Same design.

Thanks for all the input. There is no play with it when I push on it, it's solid. I'll try to reinstall

Ok so did a little looking and realized that the outer frame mounts put a slight lean on the entire bumper backward to begin with..... Didn't even realize during the install. Beside using the jack like mentioned would I guess drilling new holes would be an option.

Can anyone snap a shot of their frame mount and the XRC.

Beer!

Looks like there should be enough play in those bolts to loosen then and push on the carrier to get it straight then tighten them if you don't have a Jack to you may want to get help with the pushing or tightening

I assembled everything and did not realize it was leaned back until later.
My Pivot point leans back due to weight. It was straight up with out carrier.
The 3/16" steel is floppy. You can adjust bumper by rotating.

Mine is Ebay repop. E Auto Grille.

So took all bolts out to start fresh, got the 4 hitch receiver bolts in. Then I put my tow ball into the hitch to use as the jacking point. Jacked it up pretty good but all it did was push it further into my frame rather than lean it forward... Now I'm just frustrated and stuck...

Hve you looked at the hitch area i cant show you but you look at the holes some need to be drilled out to match the other ones....the side holes are fine dont drill those.
