Default Bumper legality question

How or who or where can I check to see if a stubby bumper is legal in MD. I would hate to pull the trigger on the Expedition One only to find out it is not legal. Help.....

I would think you could find out this information from your DMV or local law enforcement station. I know every state is different so you should be sure to find out right from the source of who will be giving you grief.

I live in VA and called a couple of state inspection garages before I bought my Shrockworks Stubby. I was told it was legal here. Might give that a try if MD has state inspections.

i think you are ok. its been a while since i had to look up that law, but if i remember correctly, the bumper must connect the front two frame points. I ran around for several weeks with a stock stubby and several police officers that saw it never pulled me over. so i think you'll be ok.

Best to check anyhow. Cops often let little things go, reason? They want to leave the door open to pulling you over later. Never think they don't see what is breaking the law, it is their business to police.
