Also, to add to the threads true purpose. I vote for the over the light bar look. Think it looks a little more aggressive on that thing.

 

^^^^^ funny you should write this, as I am ready to go get it switctched from under to over for this exact reason.

That, and I found that it lights up even more mounted on top than under. Not sure if it's the mounting bar blocking part of the light, but it is noticeable.
