Default Bumper Options

I'm researching the front and rear bumper options for my new 2009 4dr Rubi. I've looked at Warn, Shrockworks, ARB and a few others. I'm still an agnostic on appearance. Are there any thoughts out there on which manufacturer makes the best quality product? I've read that Mopar is subpar.

Default I know

I know. I've searched twice. There are hundreds of posts, but I haven't found any that address quality among manufacturers.

are you looking for a front full width, mid-width or stubby? in the rear, are you looking for just a bumper or bumper tire carrier?

if you are looking for a full width bumper, the AEV bumper is nice but pricey and if i had to choose, i probably would go with an ARB instead as it looks just as good in my opinion and, is easier to install and is more functional. however, i'm not much of a full width bumper kind of guy. if it were up to me, i would recommend going with a stubby like PUREJEEP, LoD or shrockworks makes. i have personally run all of these on my jk and can tell you that they are all top notch. of the 3, only the LoD can retain the factory fog lights. if keeping your factory fogs is a must, you can always go with a mid-width bumper. i have run both the LoD and shrockworks mid-width and both are a good choice. i'm sure there are others but these are the only ones that i have run.

for the rear, i have run a PUREJEEP and LoD rear bumper tire-carriers and can tell you that both are made extremely well. if a trail rack and gas can mounts is something you need, the LoD will do the trick for you.

The Purejeep is a tough bumper. It'll take a hit.

The powder coat held up well in two Ohio winters.

Default Good question

I can only tell you that I've read several posts in different forums that generally bash the quality of MOPAR products. I don't recall the specifics (if any), but my guess would be that the hard core jeepsters with long experience have found MOPAR quality to be inferior to their preferred aftermarket manufacturers. However, it seems likely that for most people MOPAR would be just fine.
