ok i have seen the first wave of jk front and rear bumpers. and i just have one question.

i still like the look of several of the TJ bumpers that are revatively less expensive. and really they are just metal bumpers, is it not possible to just have a custom bracket made to modify these TJ bumper onto the JK or are they too different???

I like the rear bumper but not to crazy about the front, I'm pretty sure I'm going to make both of mine but I haven't decided on the exact type yet. I do like the tube bumpers.

 

The TJ frame rails and the way its bumpers mount on to them are way different than the new JK's. I seriously doubt you could mount them on without significant welding of new brackets. And, even at that, they would probably be too narrow in width and height. In the end, they would look smallish and unproportional to the JK.

 

smittybuilt does have the SRC line of bumpers in r&d for the jk, I saw a quick add for them but no pics yet

 

YES! These are my favorites from the TJ world. Well that question is settled!

 

I seriously doubt you could modify a TJ bumper to fit a JK.

It would be easier to weld your own custom bumpers than to do that.
