FWIW, I know it's over $300, the LoD is really lookin' good to me right about now. I think that's the one I'm gonna be puttin' on mine.
I wanted Fog lights with a winch mount, Plus I really like the design of the rear bumpers. Hansons known for high quilty bumpers built in the US.

Since you're considering a rear bumper as well, you can try to maybe pay more for the front and less for the rear. I spent less than $1,200 for a front stubby with winch mount plus a matching rear bumper with hitch and tire carrier, all brand new.

Look here and see what you like. Then decide if you need to save more $$$ or not. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/front-bumper-comparison-23194/ I love my Expedition One bumpers.

Is there anything to cover the winch area if you don't put a winch in, i.e. so that whatever you put in there is somewhat hidden?

Personally, I would choose the RR over the others you mentioned, I have experience with at least one of the other manufacturers and had problems with them.

I owned the RR at one point and was happy with it, and when I bought mine, 4ws.com had the best price.

actually, in my avatar, i was running the RR with hoop non-winch version

The non-winch RR is what I listed originally. I asked about the winch one after a guy suggested using the winch spot for storage. I think I'll go with the RR. I like that I can add the skid plate, hoop and other stuff later if I like.
