Bumper weight vs perfomance
In all the reading I have done I read that bigger tires and addition of bumpers really hurt MPG and performance, I did the tires 33 not crazy. I do notice a performance issue more so highway pulling hills, the jeep doesn't pull as well with the stock wheels and tires MPG has not dropped to bad averaging 18.8 / 19.3 on 87 octane.. So I really want to upgrade the bumpers and install a winch over the winter but if it drops MPG and hurts performance I might scrap the idea.. Not sure of what bumpers I want yet still looking but if I have to sacrifice more power I won't do it any insight is appreciated
It's a jeep. Not the most gas efficient and not the lightest vehicle. Tires and lift will make a noticeable difference to your mpg, but bumpers and winch won't.
Driving style will make the biggest difference to your mpg. Watch the lead foot and don't drive too fast and you will get a lot better mpg. One of the reasons we used to have the old 55mph limit was to help conserve gas.

More weight means that more energy is needed for moving it. More energy is increased fuel consumption.
The same goes for braking. Braking more weight is increased brakes wear.
If you don't really need a winch, don't get one... and if you do install a winch, you can use synthetic rope, which is much lighter than steel (and much less dangerous).
Re-gearing would improve power, but not necessarily improve mpg.

From about 60 mph and higher, the 'cube aerodynamics' of the Jeep makes air resistance a very meaningful factor regarding mpg.

That's everyone, I understand the Jeep is not a fuel efficient vehicle nor loaded with power, it serves a duel purpose for me a toy and a DD, I travel about 50 mikes per day with that 35 is highway, I have seen the variance in MPG depending on my driving I do around 65 the speed limit and I do ok 5 miles faster I see a big drop, so to improve my fun time and not always having a fellow off-roader with me I feel better if I had a winch incase I got in trouble, so I am trying to make a reliable off road vehicle that's a DD I do not want to change gears i was really trying to get some feed back on the impact of adding weight,,, one reply to this thread mentioned aluminum bumpers any leads on who
Thanks again
