Word of warning, don't mount the winch plate till you have the bumper installed :-P I mounted the winch and plate to the bumper and then tried to install it and that doesn't work. Wasted about an hour on that one.

So, my pavement ends bumper is installed and looking sweeeeet! I now have a new dilemma.
I bought the universal winch mount at Harbor Freight and can not figure out how to mount this thing with this particular bumper.
My options...
1. Mount the winch plate to the frame and cut my brand new bumper
2. Mount the plate straight to the bumper and not the frame... but when winching, could I possibly tear off my bumper because it is only held on with four bolts??
3. Mount the winch mount to both the bumper and frame without cutting anything, that would mean the winch plate would sit at an angle. Would the winch sitting at an angle cause any un-needed stress on the winch?

Show us a pic and give us a couple of measurements.
I'd want the plate to sit level and fit behind the bumper.
Idealy no cutting would be better yea?
You may have to get the winch on the plate and mount it sa far back as you can by eithe re drilling the plate mounting points or your chassi rails.

Ok. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I think what I'm ultimately going to do is... Return the HF plate and but the one specific to my front bumper.
I would rather drill a couple of holes to mount the winch, with the right plate. Rather than drilling holes for everything, mounting plate and winch.
