Are you sure it's not the seat covers? Maybe the tire carrier?

35s with no lift is a bad idea all around. Bad things happen with bad ideas.

Good luck.

Did you trim the tab that sticks down above your rear tire? It's behind your back door. Inside the wheel well.

oddly, i hve experianced the same problem. When i was 100% stock and now with the lift and tires. Happens every once in a while. Smells like rubber/oil burning or something running hot. I noticed the most when i drive in the snow for some strange reason. I was going up a road a few weeks ago going about 3mph not spinning and smelled it again. auto trans?

Please post if you have ideas more on what you suspect

This is my guess also, the extra work on the tranny and/or the driveshaft. It hasnt happened again (yet), but like to know if it happened to others

Over the weekend I trimmed the fenders for articulation offroad, but on highways the 35s do not rub on the fenders - honest I'll have pics soon.

It's not the rims rubbing on the brakes , the rims are not hot.
It's not the pinch seam cormers, I bashed and folded them away.

It could be the rear tire rubbing on the rear upper control arm. This happen to me with stock tire on stock rubicon wheel and new upper arm. I notice that the rear tire (stock) was very close to the new upper control arm.

So even without new control arm the rear tire (35'') it might be the width of new tire?

I have never hear that a set of 35'' putting more stress on the tranny/DS smells like this.
