Default bushwacker flares

Just wondering about there flat flares on a jk unlimited. When you buy there flares do you reuse your inner fender splash gaurds or do they supply you with new ones or do you just totally get rid of them. Some pics of some wheel wells with these flat flares would be awesome.

You trim the factory flares. Search for the install directions on google and you can get an idea of how they install. The liners look the same just with different fenders.

Im about to install the bushwacker flares in the next couple weeks. Does any know if you need to re-use any stock clips or fasteners at all? From the write up on project JK it looks like the bushwackers come with all its own hardware and all the stock stuff can be thrown away.

I just want to be prepared with extra parts from the dealer if I am going to need them since I know I will break them when removing the stock flares. Thanks

Nope you DON'T REUSE ANY STOCK HARDWARE the flares come with all of the new hardware that you need to install. They're a bitch to get on tho but way stronger than stock. FYI make sure you have a few spare nylon lock bolts that they ship because after putting two sets of these on I sheared at least one of them and they don't give you extra, so open the box and go grab a few because you don't want to start the job and be almost finished and have one of them shear on you or not thread correctly. Because trust me at least one will. good luck!

and as or the inner splash guard leave more than you think and then re-cut to fit properly, instead of cutting too much.

The hardware that coms with the flares are crap. Had to break 4 bolts because the locknuts wouldn't thread properly. Didn't find the install all that difficult but probably took about an hour more than it should have.

Yea the bolts are absolute shit. I sheared at least 3 off trying to tighten them. Nice product, crappy install hardware.

You'll reuse your inner fenders, they just get trimmed near flush with the body and get reinstalled.

Simple install, but make sure they are warm before you try to get them on with the adhesive strip. I did mine in the cold and need to remove and reinstall one this summer once it warms up. It didn't bend to the body quite right.

x 1 million. I got all new hardware after I used the first couple. Also, don't know about you guys, but to wire up the side marker lights, I had to wire it backwards (black to white). Just a heads up because if you wire it up the way that makes sense and put your flare on without testing it and it doesn't work...that would suck.

Does anyone know where to get the nylon bolts?? Im guessing auto zone??

Also, I guess I will buy all new bolts and lock nuts before I start.

How hard is it to cut the inner fenders and get it right?? Im worried about the install because I dont have alot of patience...these look like they are going tobe a PITA!!
