Default Bushwacker Pocket flare questions

Howdy,

Quick question before i install my new flares tomorrow, or raptor them and let cure till next weekend. I already pulled the old ones off.

1) Once installed how hard is it to swap out marker lights if i want to go led/smoked later on.

2) anyone with experience putting bedliner on the bushwackers? The popular flats are the same material of plastic i believe. Did you line both pieces prior to install? Or once on the jeep?

3) how does the bushwacker plastic hold up to the sun?

Thanks for any feedback.

I had the bushwacker flats for a while....but same plastic. In regards to the sun, they didn't look great on their own after 18 months. Could always wake em up with back to black or something simmilar, but mine faded and always showed spots from mud. I'd note that although in Texas where the sun is brutal, my jeep was always garaged at work and home, so not just baking in the sun.

I think the marker lights would be a pain to change. Not worth uninstalling the flare to get the wiring done (if you wanted it to remain internal).

If you were going to bed line them, I'd do it off the jeep and before installation. No sense having to take extra precaution not to get bedliner all over your jeep's finish.

Thanks for the reply. I was doubtful abot bushwackers UV resistance claims. Weather permitting looking to spray the fenders and put another (second) coat on my grill.

Not worried about keeping liner off jeep. Big part of my plan is to raptor line fenders front and rear and door silIs as i have a lot of scratches in the finish from my time in el paso (mesquite trees) and even more from down here in Ga where the trails are super thick with brush. Its just hard to commit to scuffing up the main body for prep.

Might just be the Tx dirt. My jeep doesn't get washed a ton, and I found the mud spots didn't like to come off that easily on mine. They tended to stick around. Just my experience.

So i raptor lined the bushwacker pocket flares and got them installed.

Glad i raptor lined them. The plastic flares had a poor texture that scratched easy and looked like it would fade bad. The fit and finish was not what you would hope for the price. Had to clean a lot of poorly cut areas up, and every bolt hole needed trimming.

The install on these is a nightmare. Seriously i would rather change my ball joints and regear again than do this flare install.

The side marker lights look great, i got some smoked ones for the install. But if they ever fail changing them out will be a nightmare.

Lesson learned. These flares suck. They look great, cover my tires fully, which was the whole point, but wouldnt recommend. terrible
