BYOB? (Building your own bumper)
Hey all, I am looking for some feedback on a front bumper that I am going to attempt to build. Any design considerations that I have missed or am leaving out? I am in the early stages of putting this together and thought I would hit you all up for anything I may have missed. I do plan on adding some high lift jack points, a winch, and some tabs where I have the stock hooks in the mock are located. Thanks!

I think your on the right track. I wanted to keep my winch fully recessed/hidden in the bumper. I used a piece of channel for the front so that I had a flat spot for hi-lift points. I also chose the use the stock mounting hooks with the d-ring tabs in the center that way if my shackles are stolen I still have a place to hook. Feel free the ask if you have any particular questions.
I'm likin' it so far. make sure you take good measurements & post them here. I like the look of a stubby but I don't trust people in front of me enough to do without the front wheel protection. I'll give up the approach angle rather than safety any day,, Keep Wheelin'

Thanks for all the feedback! I will post pics and dimensions etc as I progress. I haven't even thought about how I would finish it when I am done. The rustoleum looks like a solid candidate though!

Started with a to scale drawing to get my head around the way I wanted it. Had a piece of channel that was 48" long that I bolted up to the front of the frame horns, verified a few measurements and then made some templates. The winch mount is another piece of channel welded in the back, with some gussets keeping it from twisting in any way.
