Default C-Gusset Chatter

has anyone that has installed these noticed a "clanking" sound going over bumps? i can reproduce it easily by shaking the front end and ive been able to isolate it right to the the C Gussets on each side.

EVO guys, is there anything i can do? when i installed them we got them in real tight, and they looked just like the pics. im sure since ive had the roof open and doors off that i am noticing it more lately.

Paramaniac, You have a BB, do you have adj trk bar or bracket? If not your axle is off center and maybe causing one spring to bow out more than the other

Just FYI Mel is currently on the Detroit Locker Tour up in Oregon so you may not recieve a response on here till they're back. Call the shop, Andrew can probably assist you. Good luck

he is running the 2" SJ.... I bet you hit the nail on the head right there! Just enough offset to hit the spring

I got rid of my BB, am running the OME HD springs as I blew out my stock springs.they are giving me about 3.5" of lift though. I do have adj track bars on my to get list but my dead, and I mean dead, stock springs needed to go first

then you are even further out of axle alignment. If you have the gussets installed right, the next step would be at minimum a front adj trac bar

I know this is gonna sound slap ridiculous.....but IF you're SURE the spring hitting the gussett is where the noise is coming from, just run a small bead between the gussett and spring. Small enough to grind off easily yet large enough to do the job. Problem solved. IF that's what it is.
