Default C Gussets

Just have a quick question. I'm running 285/70/17 Falken Rocky Mountains that weigh in at 61lbs each according to the website. Would I need C Gussets to prevent any bent? Is it only if you get 35's that you need them? Is it the weight or the height that matters? Sorry for the multiple questions but just want to get this right. Thx guys!

Anything bigger than stock tires will bend the C's on the front axle. It's not about the weight of the tire that will cause the bend. It's the taller tire creating more leverage on the C that causes it to bend. Just think of a pry bar. It's easier to pry something with a longer pry bar.

trust me, get the gussets. it's not the weight, it's the size of your tires that'll start bending the c's

Can any welder install them if I purchased the EVO gussets or are they more of an off road shop type install?

They are rather simple to install, any experienced welder can do the install. They simply slide over the C's....

Technically any welder could, but make sure he doesn't cook your ball joints. an experienced jeep tech will know this, a bozo will just say your balljoints were bad to begin with (and they may well be, stock bj's are known to go around 30k miles).

Thanks guys, one more question...Can they be welded on without taking any components off? Assuming they're careful with the ball joints of course.

When they lift the jeep (supposing they do) your axle will drop enough causing the springs to "open up" more allowing them to properly seat the gusset.
