Thank you, for what everyone was charging for Jk specific switches, for a little more I have a proper sports cage and I have my switches above me and out of the way.

The suck down winch has helped me get over a lot of steep obstacles. I'm sure some of you have had your Jeep practically vertical in the air and that the weight of the engine wants to unload and have you fall backwards. Or at least give you the feeling that it wants to do this. Sucking the frame to the axle will give your front tires enough traction to pull itself over the obstacle.

It basically is a winch that sucks the body/frame to the axle to change the center of gravity on very steep descents or ascent a steep slope/obstacle.
For basic wheeling this is not necessary, but keeping up with buggies with 42+" tires is very helpfull.

You can also just winch yourself over the obstacle, but that is cheating and not pushing your Jeep and yourself to the limit.

Just be careful and mindful of the hazzard switch. It didn't break until the second time I took it apart.

Those suggesting wireless probably don't have a wireless setup.

Any wireless winch controls I have used have a delay. Aside from long straight pulls, they are dangerous. That small delay could destroy your bumper or pull you into something without realizing it. I believe that's why Warn doesn't equip their larger winches with wireless.

Just a warning. I have wireless, and it's great for long distance pulls, etc... but once you get close to the bumper you need to be extremely careful.

I did this back in march for my Engo 12k mounted on the ACE Mid-Width/Stinger bumper.
Hope it gives you some ideas...

Ordered my ACE bumper and it finally arrived (3 weeks so not too long a wait)
Here it is
This thing is HEAVY!

Well, got my bumper mounted and all I can say is - I love it!
This thing is freaken awesome, put it on by myself with the use of some jack stands and lots of patience.
Mounted the winch, then the foglamps, then put it in place on the frame horns and tightend the frame bolts.
The winch does not have the control box mounted yet as I am going to mount it under the hood so had to get longer cables for that.
For the control switch itself I have something special in mind, I think it will be sweet
Here are some pics

My co-worker & I did the wiring install on the winch and remote mounted the switch from the controller.
Here is everything wired:

Had to get extended cables to move the selonoid box off the winch to under the hood

Ran cables thru a gap between grille and back of headlights, then along to the battery box:

Took switch apart and fed the wires in thru a hole punched with a coat hanger from engine bay thru firewall:

From there wire was threaded up behind plastic trim around top of winshield from passenger side to driverside.
This is where I mounted the switch after cutting hole with dremel, got lucky and fit is very tight so it should stay in place:

When needed just connect controller to box, lower visor and operate switch from drivers seat.
Figure if I need to get out to use the winch I can always just order an extra controller to have as an external use control.
Now you see it:

Now you don't:

I like that a lot. Very clean install.

BTW, I like the ACE stinger bumpers, but I would gusset the stinger more to the bumper. It looks like it will fold the second you put that 5K# of weight of the Jeep pushing up a ledge. Just my $0.02

here's mine, waterproof momentary toggle switch, it's neutral in the middle push down on the forward end for spool out/ push down on the back for spool in. when you take your finger off it returns to the middle or off position.
I ran the primary power supply through a small key type switch so that the interior switch can not be opperated by others (like my 8 year old) and suck the cable up into the fairlead housing.Click image for larger version

Who me! Lol... Ya I have one duh... Sorry yours lags, prolly needs a new remote battery. ... I like mine, in cab, out of cab, especially when you don't wana be in the jeep "just in case " and I like to stand alittle further than the 10ft 'tether '.... And you shouldn't be winching in closer than 5ft , just get a new anchor point. And warn has wireless radio control, Google it.

Did you just take apart the controller and use the wires from the controller to run into the new switch?? Then when you want to activate the switch you plug the controller in?

If I understand correctly.... Thanks
