Good timing on this question... I have to clean my filter really bad and all I have is the K&N cleaner for my motorcycle filter.

I used the K&N cleaner & oil on my AFE filter ~1 month ago since that's what they had at the store. There was one other brand, but I couldn't tell any difference. I can't tell any problems with itmy filter so far, but I'm going to subscribe to this thread to see what others say.

When I first bought my volant from a forum member I wondered the same thing. After spending some time on both google and this site, I came to the conclusion that yes you can use k & n on other filters as long as you thouroughly clean the filter (which everbody does anyways). What I found is that the air filter cleaner and oil are pretty much a lot alike. I have had no problems after 9000 miles on the volant filter. Also I would check into a prefilter, such as the one I'm using from outerwears. They work awesome and give a little more of that added piece of mind while keeping the big stuff out of the grooves in the air filter. Hope this helps.

Looks the same , smells the same, haven't tasted it to know for sure but it's prolly the same stuff. I've used both on my airaid.
