Default CAI intake question.

I saw this video and like the growl the Jeep makes.

Will all CAI's give it that growl or are there other factors?
I already have a Banks Exhaust, does it make a difference if I go with another brand?
They all just seem like curved tubes with a big filter at the end.

Thanks All.

Honestly they are all about the same. Main difference is cosmetic...they all do the same job, and yes they will give a growl when you step on the gas

The major difference is in the whistle from the throttle body. Banks usually is the lowest and K&N has the most. Had a guy ask if I had the desil in my jeep because the K&N CAI whistled so loudly. Performance wise they are about the same. I've noticed my 6th gear is more useful on the freeway but not enough to really justify the cost. Going to a snorkel this summer.

I installed my CAI a week+ before I installed my exhaust, I liked the sound of the CAI but it now is drowned out by the exhaust (or it just is all mixed up together now)... My exhaust has a low-key drone/rumble to it and I love it, but like I said, I do not notice the CAI sound anymore.

I have the AEM CAI with a MagnaFlow Cat Back and the growl is deffinatly there when ya step on it!
I agree with the others that posted, they are all pretty much the same in the power/throttle response area - I went with AEM because no need to use oil on the filter, so less upkeep.

Default There is some difference

I ran a K&N cai on my '04 Tacoma. It used the extruded plastic tube and at certain throttle positions could be very loud. I never noticed any whistling, just some hissing.
I'm using the K&N series 77 cai on my '08 JKU, it uses a polished aluminum tube and is a lot less noisy. Don't get me wrong, it will roar at full throttle just like the others. But I find it much more pleasant than the plastic models. Very little hissing, no whistling.

using the Airaid intake with airaid throttle body spacer in my 2011. i does whistle but i dont notice it much, but i know the new interiors do seperate outside noise better than 07-10's. i noticed a slight increase in power at hwy speeds and smoother throttle acceleration

Poly based tube CAIs perform better than metal tubed CAIs because they do not transfer as much engine bay heat into the intake. Poly based CAIs are also quieter as they absorb more sound than their metal counterparts.

This is very true. The metal/polished tubes look nice but they do conduct heat. Had one years ago on a truck and it did get fairly warm to the touch
