Calling all balancing & Goodyear MTR/K's experts...help!
Here is the scenario...
I just upgraded to 35's and couldn't get my hands on a set of BFG KM2's in the 15" flavor so MTR/K's were it. My rims are Procomp 8179's with xtreme rock rings which don't allow for weight on the outer lip and the diameter doesn't allow for large stick-ons (small ones are alright). After two balances from the same shop, the results are the same for both with and without rock rings...vibration starting at 45mph. Tomorrow I have an appointment with another shop to try to fix the issue. My previous set of 33" BFG KM's had no issues with the same rim setup.
- Should I try to sell the MTR's and wait on a set of KM2's?
- Should I sell the rims and get something that I can get weight on the outside?
Any thoughts, insights, or experience in this realm would really help me out.
Thx...

I've heard a lot of people had luck with balancing beads inside the tire. Someone else will surely pipe up soon with exactly the info you need. But no, don't sell the wheels or tires, unless you want to sell them to me.
I'll give you $100 if you're really worried about them.

There is a feature on most tire balance machines that will match the tire with the rim. What it does it will mark a spot on the tire that is ideally to be lined up with the valve stem. It's a way to 'match' the two separate pieces together and then will be closer to the desired balance once the weights are added. Check out the link below for more info.

Rotate the tire on the rim. Had to rotate 2 tires before I got a decent balance. Make sure they go with lead stick on weights. The normal type WILL get knocked off when wheelin, trust me, I know...

Thanks for the replies guys. I really hope this shop gets it right tomorrow. And yes they are doing a road force balance. I also specifically asked him if they would rotate the tire on the rim...yes is what he said. The last shop seemed to shy away from that for one reason or another.
Keep your fingers crossed for me...
