Calling all RE 3.5 Superflex installers!!!!
I am in need of some pointers... I finally have all the parts for my lift and am ready to do it. This weekend (hopefully). Are there any tricks that I must know to install this thing correctly? Believe me, I will be following the instructions (it will be hard to keep referring back to the paper cuz I'm a man - and we all know real men don't need no stinkin instructions...
)...... But seriously, has anyone installed the RE 3.5 Superflex and found something that would have made it easier if it were in the instructions? Really, it doesn't just apply to the RE lift, I am sure all the lifts are pretty much comparable... So does anyone have any tips/tricks/advice/special tools to install a lift..
BTW, this site has been extremely informative and I can't wait to meet some of you fine JKers.. I have learned alot and learn something new everyday...

I'm with you on the whole instructions thing. The first step in anything I put together or build is to throw the instruction away, cause I'm a man!
Anyway, since your lift is very similar to mine (Currie) and the Full Traction, I would highly suggest you do what I have done to make adjustments or maintenance, and that is to follow WOL's lift install writeup, which I am sure you have seen. Use it along side the R.E. instructions. I don't know how good those are, but I think WOL's instructions have put any others I have seen to shame. If nothing else you'll have all the bolt sizes and torque specs which will save you a lot of time just in looking for tools.
Here is the link to the writeup just in case you haven't seen it. Lots of tips and tricks here. http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...ation-write-up
Can't wait to see it when it's all done!

A buddy and I did it ourselves a while back, no previous lift experience. I did use their instructions in conjunction with Eddies.
A few things we noticed or wished we had:
AIR TOOLS! omg the teeth are so small we felt like we were wrenching for hours. Otherwise, elbow grease it is!
I forget exactly but I believe one of the passenger side bolts needed to be sawed off. A reciprocating saw or similar tool would be handy there.
A relatively clean underbody, we had so much dirt specs and debris fall into our eyes. Silly to wear googles, googles are for shop class
A hydraulic lift would be nice but we did it entirely on the ground and a few jack stands.
Lastly, patience and another set of eyes to double check your work is nice. We had another friend help out who was less then patient. Ended up having to redo a lot of stuff because one of the control arms was upside down or pointed the wrong way.

Hey Bondsman,
Good choice with the lift you will love the way the JK will Handel. I have the same lift on my JK installed but only had 1 problem. The shocks I got were for a 4.5 lift but got that sorted out. Plus i have just ordered the .75 rear coil spacers as my Rear warn bumper tire carrier and spare tire did drop my rear a bit so once I get my rear spacer I will be
I scrapped the rear track bar relocation bracket and got myself a Full Traction adjustable track bar as RE didn’t have one at the time when I ordered my lift. The shocks I got were Rancho 9000XL and they are amazing.
The only major issue was the wrong shocks other than that its straight forward. The upper arm bolt next to the manifold was a pain but with a grinder that was soon sorted out lol.
Hope you are happy as I am with the kit. Now I am just waiting for my RE front and rear drive shafts. My stock shafts are fine for now, no vibrations or problems but I would rather be safe than sorry in the long run.
Here is a Pic of my JK with the RE 3.5 lift.

After: ( Rubicon Express 3.5" sitting on MT 35's )

When you have finished your install dont forget to post up some pics so we can all see the new look

Thanks Ctimrun. I have had WOL's writeup sitting next to my throne for some time now. It has been studied over and over every time I visit my quiet room.

Jeep 007, I will definitely post some pics when it is done. I too had a minor issue with the shocks once they arrived. Called David and Northridge and he had it corrected immediately. I guess when my kit was shipped from RE, they put 2 brushed bilstein shocks in there with 2 of the painted ones. You JK looks SAWWWEEEET!!!!
I'm gonna give the relocation bracket a try and if I break a shock, I will go with the adjustable trackbar.
Thanks for everyone's insight. I can't wait til tomorrow...
