Default can i drive without i shift boot

i am part of the way through installing my rough country body lift and iv installed the spacers just not the shifter extender. I have however removed the outer and inner shift boot. can i drive without these two things before i get to unstalling the adaptor.



......i would just istall it immediately but i dont have the tool to lossen the shifter clamp

Of course you can, it will be a bit noiser but yuo will hear the motor behaivour better.
