Can I put bedliner on my chrome nerf bars????
As the subject hints at I have some chrome Westin nerf bars that were on my jeep when I bought it. I'm trying to get rid of the chrome. Will bed liner stick to them for a cheap temporary fix? An if so what does everyone use to bed line their own stuff?
I Herculined the chrome nerf bars on my Dodge. Just make sure to scuff off the shine on the chrome. I used a few 3M Schotchbrite pads. Once they were scuffed up, cleaned them with Xylol (Xylene), then applied the Herculiner. Worked great and has held up for over 3 years of Montana/Wyoming weather.

Im not sure that a scotchbrite pad is enough?
I would take some 220 grit sand paper and make sure the chrome finish is no longer intact. After the chrome finish is sanded down itll stick for sure!

I think it depends how far gone the chrome is. If it's in good shape, you'll probably be fine after hitting it with some medium grit sandpaper. If there's any flaking going on, you may want to just sell them and use the proceeds to get some new nerfs, or better yet, sliders

Dupli color is like the Ruggid Ridge of paints... Sure it's cheap but does it last....
It will be tough to over look the little chunks at first.... but after a few weeks you'll won't notice them. They will be covered in mud and dirt soon enough. To remove it and do it over with another kind of beliner like raptor or somthing would be a huge pain. Just run it, you will get used to it.... Or sell for some rock rails....
Good luck
